Raiders and Pats swap players

The Regina Pats sent forward Sloan Stanick to the Prince Albert Raiders in exchange for defenseman Adam McNutt.

Stanick, who is from Rapid City, MB, has scored five goals and added nine assists through 78 games with the Regina Pats including two goals and two assists in five games this season.

McNutt, who is from Saskatoon, SK, has scored one goal and added two assists through 26 games with the Prince Albert Raiders. He has yet to earn a point in four games this season.

Kaddoura traded to Moose Jaw

Defenseman Majid Kaddoura has been traded by the Prince George Cougars to the Moose Jaw Warriors in exchange for a seventh-round draft pick in 2023.

For Kaddoura, who is from Chestermere, AB, Moose Jaw will be his third WHL team following stops in Saskatoon and Prince George. In 125 games he has scored eight goals and added 17 assists. In two games this season he has yet to hit the score sheet.

Rockets acquire Knight

Goaltender Colby Knight has been traded by the Edmonton Oil Kings to the Kelowna Rockets in exchange for a fourth-round pick at the 2025 WHL Draft.

The 18-year-old from Red Deer, AB, had yet to play a game this season. He has four career WHL appearances, all coming in last season’s shortened season. He has a 3-1-0 career record, with a 2.25 goals-against average and a .885 save percentage.

Knight was a fifth-round 2018 WHL Draft pick of the Oil Kings.

Kelly earns contract extension with Ottawa

22-year-old forward Parker Kelly (93 goals, 95 assists in 273 games with Prince Albert from 2015-2019) has earned a two-year contract extension with the Ottawa Senators.

Kelly, who is from Camrose, AB, scored in his only NHL game last season. He also played 33 games with the Belleville Senators, where he scored 10 goals and added eight assists. Kelly was not drafted to the NHL.

133 WHL alumni named to NHL opening night rosters

Leading the way with 13 alumni on NHL rosters are the Portland Winterhawks, followed by the Calgary Hitmen (11), Red Deer Rebels (10), and the Vancouver Giants (10).

Every NHL team has at least one former WHL player on its roster.
