Doyle signs with Hurricanes

2006-born Tristen Doyle signed a WHL Standard player agreement with the Lethbridge Hurricanes and will join the team for the remainder of the 2021-22 season. The Bonnyville, AB product was a Hurricanes’ first-round pick (17th overall) in the 2021 WHL Prospects Draft.

In 33 games with the Northern Alberta Xtreme U18 Prep team (CSSHL) he picked up 42 points (10G-32A).

β€œThis is a big day for our organization,” said Hurricanes General Manager Peter Anholt said via the team website. β€œWe are thrilled to be able to get Tristen signed and add him to our 2006-born group with (Miguel) Marques and (Trae) Wilke.”

β€œWe are really proud of how our leadership group has taken their young teammates in and embraced them and to help push them to be better and how they continually show what it is to be Hurricanes,” added Anholt. β€œWe are excited to add Tristen along with Marques, (Noah) Chadwick and (Brady) Smith to our group.”

Jerome released by Allen

22-year-old D-Jay Jerome (Red Deer, Prince Albert, Victoria, Lethbridge, Swift Current 2016-20) was released after 30 games by the ECHL’s Allen Americans. The forward had 10 points (4G-6A) during his tenure with Allen.

The Lethbridge, AB product was well-traveled in the DUB as he skated for five different teams in his four seasons. He picked up 105 points (49G-56A) in 233 games.

Patera recalled by Golden Knights

Jiri Patera (Brandon 2018-20) was recalled from the Henderson Silver Knights of the AHL by the Vegas Golden Knights. He has split his time with Henderson and the Fort Wayne Komets (ECHL) in 2021-22. With Henderson, he has played in 15 games where he is 6-9-0 with a 2.92 GAA and .901 save percentage. With Fort Wayne, the Praha, CZ product has played in 15 games going 7-5-3 with a 2.77 GAA and .906 SV%.

In his two DUB seasons, both with the Wheat Kings, Patera got into 89 games going 46-32-9 with a 2.95 GAA, .913 SV%, and six shutouts.

Pachal reassigned to Silver Knights

Brayden Pachal (Victoria, Prince Albert 2015-19) was returned by the Vegas Golden Knights to the Henderson Silver Knights where he is the teams’ captain. He has suited up for 49 games with the Silver Knights where he has eight points (1G-7A). In his two appearances with the Golden Knights, he has been held off the scoresheet.

The four-year DUB defenseman from Estevan, SK played 239 games where he had 98 points (26G-72A)
