DUB’s Daily Dose: ICE clinch East Division, Hickey loaned to the Reign, and more!

 

ICE clinch East Division Pennant

The Winnipeg ICE clinched the East Division with a 5-0 win over the Brandon Wheat Kings on Saturday night. The win gives the ICE a 43-9-3-2 record good for 91 points which is 18 points up on the second-place Warriors.

Hickey loaned to Reign

33-year-old Thomas Hickey (Seattle 2004-09) who is under contract with the New York Islanders but has been playing with their AHL farm club in Bridgeport has been loaned to the Ontario Reign. In two games with the NHL’s Islanders, the defenseman has no points. With the AHL’s Islanders, he has 12 points (4G-8A) in 29 games.

The Calgary product played his entire DUB career with the Thunderbirds where he suited up for 262 games collecting 177 points (39G-138A) along the way.

Goulbourne loaned to Gladiators

28-year-old Tyrell Goulbourne (Kelowna 2009-15) was loaned to the ECHL’s Atlanta Gladiators by the AHL’s Belleville Senators. The Edmonton product had signed an AHL deal with Belleville back in the summer of 2021. In nine games with the Baby Sens, he has been held off the scoresheet.

Heatherington recalled by Ottawa

Dillon Heatherington (Swift Current 2010-15) was recalled by the Ottawa Senators from their AHL affiliate in Belleville. The 26-year-old has played nine games with the Ottawa version of the Senators, he has been held off the scoresheet. In Belville, he has 11 points (2G-9A) in 27 games.

The Calgary product played his DUB career with the Broncos where he was an still is known for his defense, he suited up for 247 games collecting 87 points (13G-74A).
