Kovacs scores first DUB goal for Hurricanes

17-year-old Easton Kovacs sniped his first career DUB goal in a huge 5-2 Lethbridge Hurricanes win over the Red Deer Rebels. The defenseman from Delta, BC now has a pair of points (1G-1A) in 37 games for the Canes.

Gould notches first DUB marker for Americans

2005-born Tanner Gould found a loose puck and jammed it past Scott Ratzlaff in the Seattle Thunderbirds net. His first career DUB marker got the Tri-City Americans on board in a 3-1 loss to those Thunderbirds. The Calgary product has five points (1G-4A) in 19 games so far this season.

Hagel traded to Lightning

Brandon Hagel (Red Deer 2015-19) was traded by the Chicago Blackhawks with fourth-round picks in 2022 and 2024 to the Tampa Bay Lightning in exchange for forwards Taylor Raddysh, Boris Katchouk, a first-round pick in 2023, and a first-round pick in 2024. The 23-year-old has 37 points (21G-16A) in 55 games with the Hawks.

The four-year DUB forward from Saskatoon, SK played his entire career with the Rebels putting up 279 points (103G-176A) in 259 games.

Kemp recalled by Reign

Brett Kemp (Everett, Edmonton, Medicine Hat 2015-21) was recalled by the Ontario Reign (AHL) from the Greenville Swamp Rabbits (ECHL). The 21-year-old has 37 points (17G-20A) in 30 games.

Originally from Yorkton, SK, Kemp played 255 DUB games where he collected 218 points (96G-122A).

Nachbaur recalled by Checkers

Three days after being reassigned to the Greenville Swamp Rabbits 21-year-old Justin Nachbaur (Prince Albert 2017-21) was recalled by the Charlotte Checkers (AHL). He has played six games with the Checkers where he has no points. In 10 games with the Swamp Rabbits, Nachbaur has seven points (4G-3A).

The four-year DUB veteran from Cross Lake, MB played his entire career with the Raiders where he played 216 games collecting 89 points (45G-44A) along the way.

Gennaro loaned to Thunder

Matteo Gennaro (Prince Albert, Calgary, Swift Current 2013-18) was once again loaned to the ECHL’s Wichita Thunder by the Bakersfield Condors. The 24-year-old has split the season between the two clubs. In 25 games with the Condors, he has five points (3G-2A). He has 15 points (7G-8A) in 15 games with the Thunder.

The five-year DUB veteran played a whopping 338 games, where he notched 248 points where he split his goals and assists down the middle with 124 in each category.

Kelly re-assigned to Belleville

Parker Kelly (Prince Albert 2015-19) was re-assigned to the Belleville Senators by the Ottawa Senators. With Ottawa, the 22-year-old has played 27 games where he has five points six points (5G-1A) and with Belleville, he has 10 points (3G-7A) in 24 games.

The Camrose, AB forward played his entire DUB career with the Raiders where he had 188 points (93G-95A) in 273 games while serving as an alternate captain his last two seasons.

Pachal re-assigned to Henderson

Two days after making his NHL debut, Brayden Pachal (Victoria, Prince Albert 2015-19) was returned to the Henderson Silver Knights. He was held off the scoresheet in his NHL debut. The Henderson Silver Knights captain has suited up for 47 games where he has eight points (1G-7A).

The four-year DUB defenseman from Estevan, SK played 239 games where he had 98 points (26G-72A).

Elmer recalled by Wolf Pack

Jake Elmer (Regina, Kootenay, Lethbridge 2014-19 has spent time with both the Hartford Wolf Pack (AHL) and Jacksonville Icemen (ECHL) this season, has been recalled to the Wolf Pack. With the Wolf Pack, Elmer has one assist in 10 games. With the ECHL club, he has 28 points (16G-12A) in 40 games.

Elmer started his DUB career with the Pats before being moved to the Ice before ending his career playing his best two seasons both with the Hurricanes. He had 134 points (64G-70A) in 204 games, 118 points in his time with the Canes.

Olsen released by Heat

As the Tweet above says Ryan Olsen (Saskatoon, Kelowna 2009-14) was released by the Stockton Heat shortly after being recalled from the ECHL’s Kansas City Mavericks. In 17 games with the Heat, the 27-year-old had one point (1G-0A). With the Mavericks he accumulated 13 points (9G-4A) in 21 games.

The Delta, BC product played 275 DUB games split between the Blades and Rockets where he picked up 166 points (84G-82A).
