Winterhawks sign pair of prospects

Portland remained busy throughout the weekend, announcing two signings. Rhett Ravndahl, 16, D, was signed on Friday by the Winterhawks. Ravndahl was selected in the fourth round of the 2020 WHL Draft. Carter Sotheran, 16, D, was signed on Saturday by the Winterhawks. He was selected in the fifth round of the same draft.
Ravndahl played five games in 2020-21 with the Prince Albert Mintos U18 AAA team, registering three assists. Sotheran played four games with the Pembina Valley Hawks U18 AAA team scoring one goal.
Baddock signs one-year, two-way contract extension with Montreal

26-year-old Vermillion, AB forward Brandon Baddock (255GP, 54G, 49A with Edmonton ’11-’16) has signed a one-year, two-way contract extension with the Montreal Canadiens. Baddock spent 2020-21 playing for the Laval Rocket, the AHL affiliate of the Canadiens, scoring two goals and adding three assists through 25 games. Baddock was selected in the sixth round of the 2014 NHL Draft by the New Jersey Devils.

24-year-old Edina, MN forward Jack Walker (318GP, 101G, 147A with Victoria ’12-’17) has signed for a second season with DVTK Jegesmedek in the Slovakian hockey league. Walker split 2020-21 between DVTK (13GP, 7G, 7A) and SC Langenthal (SL, 30GP, 6G, 8A). The Toronto Maple Leafs selected Walker in the sixth round of the 2016 NHL Draft.
Moser signs with Lowen Franfurt

29-year-old forward Ryon Moser (255GP, 40G, 62A with Lethbridge and Swift Current ’08-’13) has signed with Lowen Frankfurt of DEL2. The signing comes following two seasons with EC Kassel Huskies, also of the DEL2. Last season, Moser scored 13 times and added 37 assists through 48 games.
Vause not extended by Capitals

29-year-old Calgary, AB forward Taylor Vause (273GP, 79G, 111A with Swift Current ’07-’12) has not been extended by the Vienna Capitals, thus ending a five-season partnership on Thursday. He then signed with EC Bad Nauheim of the DEL2 on Sunday. Vause played in 40 games with the Capitals in 2020-21, scoring eight times and adding 24 assists. It is not known where Vause will play in 2021-22.

Krajc re-signs with HK Dukla Trencin
The Calgary Hitmen’s second-round pick at the 2019 CHL Import Draft has re-signed with HK Dukla Trencin in Slovakia. Samuel Krajc came over to play just one WHL regular-season game with the Hitmen. In 2020-21, Krajac played for two teams, HK Dukla Trencin (Slovakia, 26GP, 2G, 2A) and HK Spartak Dubnica (Slovakia2, 3GP, 0G, 1A).
