Ferguson signs with Guildford Flames

31-year-old forward Brett Ferguson (212GP, 43G, 81A with Red Deer ’08-’11) has signed for a fourth term with the Guildford Flames of the EIHL. Ferguson previously played for Guildford in 2017-18, 2018-19, and 2019-20. Last season the Vibank, SK native played five games for HC Detva in Slovakia, remaining off the scoresheet. He also played three games for the Odessa/Vibank Bruins of the QVHL, collecting two goals and five assists.

Germany calls Hamill

For the third time in seven seasons, 32-year-old Zach Hamill (250GP, 87G, 175A with Everett ’03-’08) is headed to Germany, this time to play for Starbulls Rosenheim, of Germany3. Last season Hamill played for Angers, of the Ligue Magnus in France, scoring five goals and adding eight assists. Hamill was the eighth overall pick at the 2007 NHL Draft, by the Boston Bruins. He has 20 games of NHL experience.

Bison signs extension

23-year-old Amsterdam, NED resident Bartek Bison (93GP, 13G, 10A with Prince George and Vancouver ’15-’17) has signed a contract extension with the Tilburg Trappers of the Germany3 league. 2021-22 will be his third season with the team. Last season, Bison scored six goals and added 11 assists in 23 games. The Prince George Cougars made Bison the 20th overall selection at the 2015 CHL Import Draft.

Valchar stays with ASC Corona Brasov

32-year-old forward Radim Valchar (152GP, 32G, 38A with Portland and Lethbridge ’07-’10) has signed on for a second season with ASC Corona Brasov of the Erste Liga. In 2020-21, Valchar scored 20 goals and added 33 assists in 35 games with the team. He also had 13 goals and 19 assists in the Romanian league with the same team. The Portland Winterhawks selected Valchar fourth overall at the 2007 CHL Import Draft.
