DUB’s Daily Dose: Crunk released by Grizzlies, Gennaro traded to Everblades, and more!

 

Crunk released by Grizzlies

Taylor Crunk (Victoria, Vancouver 2011-16) was released by the ECHL’s Utah Grizzlies after 30 games with the club. The 27-year-old had one goal and 85 penalty minutes this season.

The San Jacinto, CA product started his DUB career with the Royals before finishing up with the Giants and in 287 games he had 53 points (27G-26A) and 332 penalty minutes.

Brkin released by Thunder returns to Storm

Bailey Brkin (Swift Current, Kootenay, Spokane, Moose Jaw 2016-20) was released by the ECHL’s Wichita Thunder and will return to the SPHL’s Quad City Storm.

In 16 games with the Storm (SPHL), he is 10-4-2 with a 2.12 goals-against average and .923 save percentage. With the Fort Wayne Komets (ECHL), he went 2-2-0 in four appearances with a 2.69 GAA and .869 SV%. In three games with the Rapid City Rush (ECHL), he went 2-1-0 with a 2.34 GAA and a .920 SV%. In his lone appearance with the Orlando Solar Bears (ECHL), he allowed two goals in 14 minutes giving him a 3.57 GAA and .875 SV%. In his latest stop this time with the Thunder, he played three games going 0-3-0 with a 6.71 GAA and .808 SV%

Over parts of four seasons in the WHL he played 89 games compiling a 44-32-6 record. He had a 3.40 GAA and .898 SV% in his WHL career.

Gennaro acquired by the Everblades

Matteo Gennaro (Prince Albert, Calgary, Swift Current 2013-18) was traded by the Wichita Thunder to the Florida Everblades in a three-way ECHL trade. The 24-year-old has split the season between the two clubs. In 25 games with the Bakersfield Condors (AHL), he has five points (3G-2A). He has 19 points (9G-10A) in 20 games with the Thunder.

The five-year DUB veteran played a whopping 338 games, where he notched 248 points where he split his goals and assists down the middle with 124 in each category.
