Adaszynski notches first WHL goal

With the Hurricanes up 2-0, David Adaszynski scored at 9:05 of the first period for the Calgary Hitmen. The 16-year-old from Coquitlam, BC, scored the goal in his first career WHL game. The Hitmen fell to the Hurricanes 9-2.

Backo grabs first WHL goal

With Moose Jaw holding a 2-1 lead, Robert Baco scored his first Career WHL goal at 13:05 of the second period. The 18-year-old from Kosice, Slovakia scored the goal in his first career WHL game. Moose Jaw went on to win 7-1.

Niven scores first WHL goal

Moose Jaw was dominating the game on Friday night against the Blades and Riley Niven‘s first career WHL goal was the final goal of the night to make it 7-1 at 14:13 of the third period. The 18-year-old from Wawota, SK was playing in his 15th career WHL game.

Moravec pots first WHL goal

Petr Moravec scored at 6:00 of the second period to give the Tri-City Americans a 3-0 lead over the Portland Winterhawks on Friday. The 18-year-old from Hradec Kralove, Czech Republic scored in his first career WHL game. The Americans went on to win in a shootout.

Lemonnier nets first WHL goal

With the Winterhawks and Americans tied at three, Elouann Lemonnier scored his first career goal to give the Americans a 4-3 lead at 10:03 of the third period. The 17-year-old from Lorient, France scored the goal in his first career WHL game. The Americans went on to win 5-4 in a shootout.

Schaefer scores first WHL goal

On Saturday night in his 26th career WHL game, 18-year-old Reid Schaefer scored his first career WHL goal. The goal came at 13:17 of the second period with the man advantage to give the Seattle Thunderbirds a 3-1 lead. They went on to win by the same score over the Portland Winterhawks.

Gustafson pots first WHL goal

Just 1:22 seconds into a 4-1 win for the Red Deer Rebels, 19-year-old Blake Gustafson scored his first WHL career goal. The Ardrossan, AB defenceman was playing his 40th WHL game.

Andregg nabs first career goal

With the Americans down 1-0 early in the first period, Bryson Andregg nabbed his first WHL career goal at 10:33 of the first period. Andregg was playing in his 17th career WHL game. The Americans went on to win 5-3 over the Spokane Chiefs.

Klavdiev scores first career goal

With the Hurricanes trailing 1-0, Minsk, Belarus native Yegor Klavdiev scored his first career WHL goal on the power play to tie the game at one. Klavdiev was playing in his second career WHL game and added a second goal later in the game. The Hurricanes went on to win 4-1.

Vikman earns first WHL win and shutout

With the Vancouver Giants 5-0 win over the Victoria Royals on Saturday, Jesper Vikman picked up his first career WHL win. The 19-year-old goalie from Stockholm, SW made 16 saves in the effort, earning him his first career shutout as well.

Suchanek earns first career win

With a 5-3 victory over the Spokane Chiefs, Thomas Suchanek earned his first career WHL win. Suchanek, an 18-year-old from Oloumouc, Czech Republic, made 42 saves on 45 shots to preserve the win.

Geertsen claimed by New Jersey Devils

26-year-old defenceman Mason Geertsen (19 goals, 59 assists in 245 games with Edmonton and Vancouver 2010-15) has been claimed off waivers by the New Jersey Devils. He was previously with the New York Rangers organization.

Geertsen was originally drafted by the Colorado Avalanche in the fourth round of the 2013 NHL Draft. He has yet to play an NHL game.

Was a member of the 2011-12 WHL Champion Edmonton Oil Kings.
