There was some good news that came down from the Winnipeg ICE regarding the players that required testing recently for COVID-19. Both players received negative results, meaning that up until this point no WHL players or staff have tested positive for coronavirus.

Joining the list of team offices to close due to the coronavirus pandemic include:

- Prince Albert Raiders
- Medicine Hat Tigers
- Brandon Wheat Kings
- Seattle Thunderbirds
- Spokane Chiefs
There may be more, some teams may not have posted just yet.

Royals cancel annual Awards Ceremony

As a result of the pandemic, the Victoria Royals have had to cancel their Awards Ceremony scheduled for March 22. They plan to have an event celebrating the award winners at another appropriate time.
Kris Schmidli signs contract extension
Kris Schmidli (Kelowna, Prince Albert, 2013-2015) signed one-year contract extension with Dübendorf (Switzerland, MySports League). 31 GP, 13+11. Tied for team lead in goals, second on ten in points. MySports League is the third level of hockey in Switzerland.

As a member of the Kelowna Rockets and Prince Albert Raiders, Schmidli played 118 WHL games. He scored 21 goals and added 48 assists. It will be the second season in the MySports League, which is the third tier of professional hockey in Switzerland.
Former Rebel retires
Jordan Draper (Red Deer, 2007-2008) has retired, per the website of Hamburg Crocodiles (Germany, Oberliga Nord). 36 GP, 13+28.

Following six seasons of playing hockey overseas, the former Red Deer Rebel has decided to hang up the skates. Draper played just seven WHL games with the team scoring once. Draper just turned 30 years old.
