The Seattle Thunderbirds have acquired Alex Morozoff from the Red Deer Rebels for a fifth-round pick in the 2021 WHL Bantam Draft. 710 ESPN Seattle writer Andy Eide reports the move was partially made by Seattle to address injury concerns upfront as Tyler Carpendale was injured in Tri-City last weekend and will be out indefinitely. The 18-year-old Morozoff had eight goals and seven assists in 64 games with the Rebels last season.

The Regina Pats have updated their 50-man protected list following the conclusion of training camp. Of note, 2018 fourth-round pick Jake Snashall, 2018 ninth-round pick Adam Grenier, 2018 11th round pick Colby Bear, and 2017 11th round pick Jared Miller are no longer on their protected list.
Winterhawks trim roster to 24
The Portland Winterhawks have reassigned forwards Dawson Pasternak & Jonah Bevington as well as goalie Lochlan Gordon. All three are 16-years-old
Gabe Klassen (2018 1st round selection), Jack O'Brien, and James Stefan are the 2003's still with the team

As per our Josh Critzer, the Portland Winterhawks have released 2018 third-round pick Lochlan Gordon, 2018 fourth-round pick Dawson Pasternak and 2018 fifth-round pick Jonah Bevington from the active roster to bring the roster down to 24.
Wheat Kings release three first-round picks from their active roster
The Brandon Wheat Kings have reassigned a trio of first round picks in forwards Tyson Zimmer, Nate Danielson and Rylen Roersma.

The Brandon Wheat Kings have done the inevitable, sending their three first-round picks from the 2019 WHL Bantam Draft (Nate Danielson, Tyson Zimmer, and Rylen Roersma) back to their respective midget clubs. Danielson and Roersma will report to U18 programs in Red Deer and Lethbridge respectively while Zimmer will report to the Okanagan Hockey Academy in Penticton.

The Calgary Hitmen have also sent a pair of 15-year olds back to midget. 2019 first-round pick Grayden Siepmann and 2019 second-round pick Brandon Whynott will both report to the Yale Hockey Academy Midget Prep in the CSSHL.

Edmonton Oil Kings 2019 first-round pick Caleb Reimer is also on his way back to midget. He’ll be reporting to the CSSHL’s Delta Hockey Academy. He had 45 points with the Bantam Prep G team last season.
Silvertips dealing with injuries at forward

The Herald’s Josh Horton reported that Everett Silvertips forward Michal Gut was held out of Sunday’s game against Victoria due to an upper-body injury according to GM Garry Davidson. Brendan Lee was also absent from the lineup due to illness. Both players will be out of the lineup on Tuesday when the Silvertips battle the rival Seattle Thunderbirds. It’s expected the Silvertips will only dress 11 forwards when they take on the T-Birds.

Coming off an off-season cancer diagnosis, Stelio Mattheos is skating with the Brandon Wheat Kings as part of his rehabilitation process. The Winnipeg, Manitoba native is expected to head to Carolina Hurricanes training camp and then join the Charlotte Checkers of the AHL. In 11 regular-season games with the Checkers last season, the Wheat Kings captain had two goals and one assist.
