Winnipeg ICE unveil team’s first training camp roster

The Winnipeg ICE will take to the ice for their inaugural training camp on Wednesday August 28th. The team will use the RINK Training Centre for their ice times which is located in the city’s southwest. Training camp will culminate in the awarding of the Jarrett Stoll Cup.

Missing from the 2019 Bantam Draft is just one player, the team’s fourth round selection, Rieger Lorenz, a University of Denver committed player. All other picks from 2019 as well as the full contingent from 2018 are slated to be in attendance.

Also of note, Peyton Krebs remains out of action, and he is joined by veteran goaltender Jesse Makaj.

Silvertips announce training camp rosters

Everett got in on the fun, announcing their training camp roster also on Wednesday. DUBNetwork’s own Julia Hamilton wrote about it in a article you can find HERE.

Overage player Lucas Cullen is not on the roster for the Silvertips, leaving the team with four overage players on the roster (assuming Dewar and Sutter turn pro).

Swift Current Broncos announce camp dates

The Swift Current Broncos get their start to the 2019-2020 season on Sunday August 25th. The team will hold on-ice activities beginning the following day. For this season, the Broncos have moved to the Central division and will join the Edmonton Oil Kings, Red Deer Rebels, Calgary Hitmen, Lethbridge Hurricanes and Medicine Hat Tigers in the fight for the division crown. Look for the team to announce their four team rosters in the coming days.

Carolina Hurricanes prospects showcase roster announced

With NHL teams also gearing up, the Carolina Hurricanes took the step of announcing a prospects showcase roster well ahead of the coming tournament. The games will take place September 7-10 in Nashville, Tennessee. Leif Mattson (Kelowna Rockets), Kaleb Bulych (Vancouver Giants) Martin Lang (Kamloops Blazers) and Kyle Topping (Kelowna Rockets) are the four invitees from the WHL.
