The Swift Current Broncos have acquired 2001-born defenseman Rylan Thiessen from the Brandon Wheat Kings for a conditional 9th round pick in the 2021 WHL Prospects Draft.
Thiessen, who’s from Brandon, MB, had a goal and seven points in 17 games for the Wheat Kings during the 2020-21 WHL hub season. He added an assist in two games with the SJHL’s Flin Flon Bombers while on loan before the WHL season started.
He split the 2019-20 season between Brandon and the Lethbridge Hurricanes, tallying six assists in 36 games as a rookie.
Valiyev signs a tryout with Ak Bars Kazan
Ak Bars Kazan (KHL) have signed defenceman Rinat Valiev to a professional tryout.
Valiev spent the 2019/20 season under contract with the Calgary Flames, recording 2 goals and 8 assists in 49 games with the Stockton Heat. He took the 2020/21 season off. pic.twitter.com/cOWDsJwZWj

Defenseman Rinat Valiyev (14 goals, 60 assists in 107 games with Kootenay from 2013-15) signed a tryout contract with Ak Bars Kazan of the Kontinental Hockey League on Monday.
The 26-year-old from Nizhnekamsk, RUS didn’t play anywhere of record in 2020-21 but had two goals and 10 points in 49 games with the AHL’s Stockton Heat in 2019-20.
Drozd signs an extension with Yunost Minsk

Forward Sergei Drozd (11 goals, 25 assists in 61 games with Tri-City in 2009-10) signed an extension with Yunost Minsk for the 2021-22 Belarusian Extraleague A season.
The 31-year-old product of Minsk, BLR has spent the last three seasons with his hometown squad and put up 34 goals and 89 points in 149 games. Drozd is a three-time Belarus champion with Yunost Minsk.
