The Everett Silvertips announced the acquisition of 2001-born defenseman Jonny Lambos from the Brandon Wheat Kings for a 7th round pick in the 2023 WHL Prospect Draft.
The Winnipegger played the last three seasons in Brandon, putting up five goals and 19 points in 126 games.

The Edmonton Oil Kings announced the hiring of Josh Mallory as the team’s video coach and hockey operations coordinator on Wednesday.
The 24-year-old from St. Thomas, ON was with the Brock University women’s hockey team in a variety of roles over the last three seasons, including general manager, assistant coach, and director of analytics.

Defenseman Brandon Carlo (12 goals, 53 assists in 186 games with Tri-City from 2013-16) signed a six-year contract extension with the Boston Bruins.
Carlo, 24, was set to become a restricted free agent on July 28. He’s posted 55 points in 324 games with the Bruins since the 2016-17 season.

The Okanagan Lakers of the BC Intercollegiate Hockey League announced on Wednesday that Ryan Hawes (one goal in 20 games with Spokane from 1993-95) has joined the team as an assistant coach.
It is the first coaching position of note for the 44-year-old from Coquitlam, BC.

The Spokane Chiefs have signed 2003-born defenseman Tsimafei Kauharenia to a WHL standard player agreement. The blueliner from Minsk, BLR was the Chiefs’ first selection, 17th overall, in this year’s CHL Import Draft.
He had 16 points in 25 games with Minskie Zubry of Belarus Vysshaya this past season. Kauharenia was also scoreless in 17 games with Dinamo-Molodechno of the Belarusian Extraleague A.

2001-born Saskatoon Blades forward Alex Morozoff has signed with the Nanaimo Clippers, as announced by the BC Hockey League team on Wednesday.
The Saskatoon, SK product had two goals and six points in 24 games with his hometown Blades in 2020-21. He amassed a total of 27 goals and 45 points in 172 games with Saskatoon, Seattle, and Red Deer over the last three-and-a-half WHL seasons.

After 45 years using a primary logo that mirrors the NHL’s Chicago Blackhawks, the Portland Winterhawks unveiled a completely new look for the upcoming season on Wednesday.
According to a news release on the Winterhawks website, the new primary logo is a “right-facing hawk (…) with a predominantly white head, also carries the tradition of former colors black and red.”

The Lethbridge Hurricanes announced the signing of 2003-born Yegor Klavdiev on Wednesday. Klavdiev, who’s from Belarus, was the Hurricanes first selection, 11th overall, in the 2021 CHL Import Draft.
He had 11 points in 25 games with the Belarus U18 team in 2020-21. Klavdiev also played 13 games with Dinamo-Molodechno of the Belarusian ExtraLeague A and posted four points.

The 25-year-old product of Moskva, RUS had eight goals and 23 points in 59 games with Kunlun Red Star in the KHL during the 2020-21 season.

Forward Jesse Schultz (110 goals, 119 assists in 272 games with Tri-City, Prince Albert, and Kelowna from 1999-2003) has signed a contract with the ECHL’s Cincinnati Cyclones for the upcoming season.
Schultz, 38, notched four points in 18 games with the Greenville Swamp Rabbits in 2020-21. The Strasbourg, SK native previously played in Cincinnati from 2017-20.

Seattle Thunderbirds prospect Ethan Middelsteadt has signed to play junior B with the Westshore Wolves of the Vancouver Island Junior Hockey League for the 2021-22 season.
The 2005-born defenseman was Seattle’s 5th choice, 95th overall, in the 2020 WHL Bantam Draft. He spent the 2020-21 season with the Victoria Admirals U15 AAA team.

Everett Silvertips forward Jalen Price was chosen by the Amarillo Wranglers in the 8th round, 206th overall, in Wednesday’s North American Hockey League Entry Draft.
The 2001-born product of Delta, BC had three points in 19 games with the Silvertips during the 2020-21 season, his third in the league.
He also added an assist in three games while on loan to the Campbell River Storm of the VIJHL.

The VIJHL’s Saanich Braves announced on Tuesday that they have signed 2005-born Calgary Hitmen prospect defenseman Dayton Arneson for the 2021-22 season.
Arneson, who’s from Campbell River, BC, played seven games with the Notre Dame Hounds U16 Prep in 2020-21 and notched three goals and one assist.
He was selected by the Hitmen in the 4th round, 78th overall, in the 2020 WHL Bantam Draft.
