Hendren gets one-game suspension

Swift Current Broncos defenseman Parker Hendren has been suspended for one game for this slash on Tri-City’s Blake Stevenson. Hendren will be out of the lineup for Friday’s matchup with Spokane and will be eligible to return to the lineup on Saturday against Saskatoon.

Hanus full participant at Winterhawks practice

Portland Winterhawks defenseman Clay Hanus was a full participant in practice on Thursday which means he will likely be in the lineup this weekend. Hanus left Sunday’s game against Moose Jaw after a hit by forward Owen Hardy and did not return so this is certainly encouraging news.

WHL launches US Challenge Cup 

The WHL officially launched the inaugural U.S. Challenge Cup on Thursday with the U.S. Challenge Cup Dinner. Tournament action kicks off on Friday featuring 12 teams from the Western United States and British Columbia and can be live-streamed here.
