Dach signs with Blackhawks

18-year-old forward Colton Dach signed his three-year entry-level contract with the Chicago Blackhawks on Friday.

Dach is coming off a season in which he scored 11 goals and added nine assists in 20 games with the Saskatoon Blades. The Blackhawks then selected him in the second round of the 2021 NHL Draft.

On September 30th, Dach was traded to the Kelowna Rockets for forward Tyler Wong.

Blue Fox add Kuukka

35-year-old defenceman Mikko Kuukka (7 goals, 36 assists in 137 games with Red Deer 2003-05) has signed with the Herning Blue Fox of Metal Ligaen in Denmark.

Kuukka, who is from Hameenkyro, FIN, played one game with Kiekko-Espoo of the Mestis league in Finland this season. Kiekko-Espoo was the team he played with in 2020-21, where he registered six assists in 15 games.

Elliot joins Notre Dame Jr. A Hounds

2004-born goaltender Austin Elliott has joined the Notre Dame Junior A hounds club after being released from the Saskatoon Blades roster. Elliot was a 12th round pick at the 2019 WHL Draft by the Blades.

Last season Elliott played six games for the Notre Dame Hounds U18 AAA team, posting a 4-2-0 record along with a 2.23 goals-against average and a .933 save percentage.

In his one pre-season game with the Blades, Elliot collected a win while allowing three goals. He had a .900 save percentage.
