Cougars announce a new rental agreement for CN Centre

The Prince George Cougars have renewed a rental agreement with the City of Prince George that will see them call the CN Centre home for the next five seasons. The deal, which is retroactive to July 31st, 2018, will see the Cougars and the City of Prince George enter a revenue-sharing agreement rather than the Cougars paying a flat rate for rent, which is not unlike past deals the two sides have reached. As part of the deal, the City of Prince George will receive a portion of general ticket sales and suite rentals as well as all income from food and beverage sales.

Tigers add Patton to protected list

The Medicine Hat Tigers have added Teague Patton to their 50-man protected list. The five-foot-nine, 150 pounds forward from Kelowna, BC played Midget Hockey with the Okanagan Rockets of the BCMML this season. In 35 games he had 10 goals and 17 assists. As a 2003-born player, Patton would be eligible to suit up for the Tigers this season. The Tigers currently have two 2003-born forwards signed to their roster in Cole Sillinger and Ashton Ferster.

Blazers alumni re-signs with Jets

The Winnipeg Jets have re-signed forward JC Lipon to a one year contract. Lipon played 248 games in the WHL, all with the Kamloops Blazers, scoring 61 goals and adding 127 assists. He suited up for Canada at the World U-17 Challenge and at the World Juniors but did not medal on either occasion.

Ice alumni signs contract extension with Stars

The Dallas Stars have signed defenseman Roman Polak to a one-year contract extension for the 2019/20 season. Polak played 65 games in the WHL with the Kootenay ICE in the 2004-05 season scoring five goals and adding 18 assists. He also played for the Czech Republic in the World Juniors that season winning a bronze medal.

Thunderbird alumni Holloway signs in Austria

Bud Holloway who played 282 games in the WHL with the Seattle Thunderbirds, scoring 95 goals and 102 assists, has signed with EC Salzburg of the EBEL for the 2019/20 season. Holloway has mostly bounced between the AHL and SHL since turning pro in 2009. He played one game with the Montreal Canadiens in the 2015-16 season but was held pointless.
