Prince George Cougars home closed by their city council for 2020

DUBNetwork’s own Catherine Garrett was at Prince George city council meetings where the members of the council voted to close the 5,582 seat (for hockey) CN Centre, home of the Cougars, for the rest of 2020. Garrett has more on the MyPrinceGeorgeNow website.

Gelsinger signs with Utah Grizzlies

Brayden Gelsinger (12GP with Kamloops Blazers) signed with the Grizzlies of the ECHL following four seasons with the NCAA’s Lake Superior State University. Yes, you read that right, a player that played part of a season in the WHL was able to get into the NCAA and even avoided having to redshirt a season. Brad Schlossman has more on his website.

Former Tri-City American parts ways with SHL team

In an article on the Vaxjo Lakers HC website, it was announced that Brendan Shinnimin has been released to look for other opportunities. Shinnimin (267GP, 131G, 206A with Tri-City) had completed his third season with the Vaxjo Lakers HC, scoring five times and adding 17 assists in 50 games with the club in Sweden’s top professional league in 2019-20.

Bodak joins HK Nitra of Slovakia’s professional league

Martin Bodak (117GP, 18G, 38A with Kootenay ICE) has signed a professional contract with HK Nitra. It comes on the heels of a season split between HC Vikotvice, HC Poruba, and HC Prepov of the Czech and Czech2 leagues. More information can be found on the HK Nitra website.
