Chiefs add prospect

The Spokane Chiefs have added 2001-born prospect Bear Hughes to their roster as an affiliate player. The Post Falls, Idaho native was signed by the team on January 29th in the midst of an impressive rookie season of the Junior B. Hughes played this season with the Spokane Braves of the KIJHL where he led all rookies with 66 points (41G, 25A) in 46 games which was also good for seventh in the league.

Elmer set to sign

Lethbridge Hurricanes forward Jake Elmer is reportedly close to signing an entry-level contract with the New York Rangers. The overage forward is enjoying his best season by far, having put up 78 points (38G, 40A) in 66 games, a 41 point increase from last year with two games remaining. The Calgary native is just coming off a 13 game goal streak and goals in 14 of 15 games and has 131 points (63G, 68A) in 202 WHL games split between Regina, Kootenay, and Lethbridge.
