Bardsley resigns from Blazers

It was announced by the Kamloops Blazers on Tuesday that General Manager Matt Bardsley has resigned from his position effective immediately. Bardsley had just completed his third season as general manager of the Blazers. Bardsley cited personal reasons for his departure from the team. More can be found on the WHL website.

DUBNetwork confirms CHL Import Draft date

The Canadian Hockey League has confirmed to DUBNetwork that the 2021 CHL Import Draft will be held on Wednesday, June 30. Details on the determination of the order of selection have yet to be announced.

WHL alumni named to AHL’s All-Rookie Team

2020-21 AHL All-Rookie Team named

Goaltender Logan Thompson (122GP, 63-41-10, 3.26GAA, .905sv% with Brandon) and defenseman Calen Addison (252GP, 41G, 174A with Lethbridge) have been named to the AHL’s ‘All-Rookie Team’. In 31 games with the Iowa Wild, Addison scored six goals and added 16 assists. Thompson played in 23 games for the Henderson Silver Knights, going 16-2-2, with a 1.96 goals-against average and a .943 save percentage. He is also 2-0-0 in the playoffs with a 1.51GAA and .945 sv%.

McGauley signs with HC Innsbruck

Forward Tim McGauley (276GP, 102G, 157A with Saskatoon and Brandon ’10-’16) has signed with HC Innsbruck of the ICEHL. McGauley comes over from Stjernen Hockey of Norway where he scored 11 goals and added 23 assists in 24 games. The Wilcox, SK native was a member of the 2015-16 WHL Champion Brandon Wheat Kings.

Dow signs in Scotland

Defenseman Drydn Dow (222GP, 13G, 50A with Tri-City ’09-’13) has signed for a third and fourth season with the Dundee Stars of the EIHL. Dow spent 2020-21 split between the Wheeling Nailers (ECHL, 2GP, 0G, 1A) and HK Spisska Nova Ves (Slovakia2, 21GP, 2G, 10A). He also played in 15 playoff games with HK Spisska Nova Ves, scoring once and adding three assists. His team went on to win the Slovakia2 Championship.

Fafrak signs extension with HK Martin

Forward Milos Fafrak (66GP, 9G, 10A with Spokane ’17-’18) has signed a contract extension with Slovakia2’s HK Martin. Last season in 29 games with HK Martin, Fafrak had six goals and 14 assists. He also played in six games with HC Banska Bystrica of the top Slovakian professional league scoring a goal and adding an assist. Fafrak scored four goals and added seven assists in 10 playoff games. The Chiefs selected Fafrak 18th overall in the 2017 CHL Import Draft.

Sleptsov signs with HK Ryazan

Defenseman Alexei Sleptsov (114GP, 4G, 41A with Moose Jaw and Victoria ’13-’15) has signed with HK Ryazan of the VHL in Russia. Sleptsov heads over from CSK VVS Smara where he scored three goals and added one assist in 34 games. The Warriors selected Sleptsov 19th overall at the 2013 CHL Import Draft.

Vosvrda signs with HK 32 Liptovsky Mikulas

Goaltender Tomas Vosvrda (36GP, 14-11-3, 2.87GAA, .899sv% with Medicine Hat ’07-’08) has signed with HK 32 Liptovsky Mikulas od Slovakia. Vosvrda played the last three seasons with HK Poprad of the same league, playing in 41 games in 2020-21. He had a 2.61 goals against average and a .908 save percentage in the regular season. In the playoffs, he was 9-4-0, with a 2.56GAA and a .915sv%
