Ams add McCue as assistant coach

The Tri-City Americans announced the addition of Beau McCue (85 goals, 85 assists in 270 games with Tri-City from 2012-16) as assistant coach on Monday.

McCue, 26, hails from Missoula, MT, and wrapped up his playing career in 2019-20. He played for three ECHL teams that season as well as with Fayetteville of the Southern Professional Hockey League.

In 17 ECHL games with Jacksonville, Greenville, and Rapid City, he posted two assists. In 18 SPHL games with the Marksmen, McCue had 10 points.

Warriors beef up their front office

The Moose Jaw Warriors unveiled three new additions to their front office on Monday. Jaret Schneider is the club’s new director of business operations, Olivia Howe has been promoted to manager of sales and marketing, and Marc Smith is the Warriors’ new manager of digital services.

Daley commits to McGill University

Saskatoon Blades graduating forward Caiden Daley has committed to McGill University to play U SPORTS hockey this upcoming season. The 21-year-old from Winnipeg, MB finishes his WHL career with 32 goals and 92 points in 283 games with Brandon, Regina, and Saskatoon over the last five seasons.

Steenbergen moves to TPS in Finland

Forward Tyler Steenbergen (123 goals, 126 assists in 267 games with Swift Current from 2014-18) has signed with TPS of Finland’s top league for the 2021-22 season.

The 23-year-old from Sylvan Lake, AB played for the American Hockey League’s Tucson Roadrunners over the last three seasons, compiling 27 goals and 61 points in 156 games.

Bobylyov traded in Russia’s Vysshaya hokkeinaya liga

24-year-old forward Vladimir Bobylyov (40 goals, 72 assists in 162 games with Vancouver and Victoria from 2014-17) was traded in the Russian Vysshaya hokkeinaya liga from Chelmet Chelyabinsk to Lada Togliatti on Monday.

The product of Lipetsk, RUS notched nine goals and 19 points in 35 VHL games with Chelmet during the 2020-21 season. He also played five games with Traktor Chelyabinsk of the Kontinental Hockey League but didn’t register any points.

Vasko takes his game to France for 2021-22

Humenne, SVK native Filip Vasko (five goals, 19 assists in 78 games with Kelowna, Red Deer, and Regina from 2011-13) has signed with the Briançon Red Devils of Ligue Magnus, the top tier of hockey in France.

The 27-year-old played with HC 19 Humenne of Slovenská hokejová liga in 2020-21, scoring seven goals and 20 points in 36 games. Slovenská hokejová liga is the second tier of pro hockey in Slovakia.
