DUB’s Daily Dose: Nijhoff signs with Gulls, Reinhardt makes NHL debut with Sens, and more!

 

Nijhoff signs wih AHL’s Gulls

20-year-old Pats captain Logan Nijhoff has signed a two-year contract with the San Diego Gulls of the AHL. The long-time Pat has collected career-bests with 20 goals, 23 assists, and 43 points this season.

In 226 career DUB games with the Pats, the Comox, BC product has accumulated 117 points (56G-61).

Parik reassigned to Rush

Lukas Parik (Spokane 2019-20) was reassigned to the Rapid City Rush (ECHL) by the Ontario Reign (AHL). The 20-year-old Czech goalie has played with both clubs, a majority with the Rush.

In five games with the Reign, he is 3-0-1 with a 3.77 GAA and .881 SV%. He is 13-7-7 with the Rush putting up a 2.57 goals-against average and .920 save percentage with one shutout in 27 games.

The Czech product went an impressive 22-7-2 in 32 DUB games with the Chiefs where he had a 2.73 GAA, .917 SV%, and one shutout.

Wilson recalled by Heat

Koletrane Wilson (Lethbridge 2016-20) was recalled from the Kansas City Mavericks of the ECHL by the AHL’s Stockton Heat. Wilson has played one game with the Heat where he had a minor penalty. He has also skated in 57 games with the Mavericks where he has 16 points (all assists) and 73 penalty minutes.

The 22-year-old defenseman who hails from Edmonton played his entire DUB career with the Hurricanes where he collected 63 points (11G-52A) in 190 games.

Spurgeon extends with ESV Kaufbeuren

Tyler Spurgeon (Kelowna 2001-06) has signed a one-year contract extension with the EVS Kaufbeuren (Germany, DEL2) where he just completed his second season with the club, both as captain. In 2021-22 the 35-year-old forward played 57 games with the German club, where he had 54 points (27G-27A).

In 212 DUB games, all with the Rockets he collected 124 points (43G-81A).

Reinhardt and Kastelic recalled by Ottawa

Mark Kastelic (Calgary 2015-20) and Cole Reinhardt (Brandon 2016-20) were recalled from the AHL’s Belleville Senators by their parent club Ottawa Senators.

The 22-year-old Kastelic has played nine games with Ottawa where he has an assist. In 56 games with Belleville, he has 25 points (11G-14A) to go with 78 penalty minutes. He played his full DUB career with the Hitmen where he skated in 321 games collecting 235 points (126G-109A).

In 60 games with Belleville, Reinhardt has 26 points (11G-15A). He made his NHL debut in a 3-2 loss to the Nashville Predators on Thursday night. In four DUB seasons, Reinhardt had 141 points (75G-66A) in 252 games played, all with the Wheat Kings.

Reinhardt makes NHL debut with Sens

Cole Reinhardt who was just recalled from Belleville made his NHL debut with the Senators on Thursday night. The Irma, AB product played 8:35 in the Sens’ 3-2 loss to the Nashville Predators. He collected two penalty minutes, two hits, and a blocked shot in his debut.
