20-year-old Lukas Svejkovsky (Vancouver, Medicine Hat, Seattle) has signed a three-year entry-level contract with the NHL’s Pittsburgh Penguins. The right-winger started his final DUB season with the Tigers before a trade to the Thunderbirds. So far this year he has 73 points (32G-41A) in 55 games.
In 194 career DUB games the Point Roberts, WA product had 159 points (71G-88A).
Maier ties DUB goalie record
Nolan Maier is now tied for the most wins in WHL history, joining Tyson Sexsmith and Corey Hirsch with 120 career victories.

Saskatoon Blades’ overage netminder Nolan Maier tied the DUB record for career wins on Tuesday night when he and the Blades shut out the Medicine Hat Tigers 4-0 at Co-Op Place.
The win gives him 120, which ties Tyson Sexsmith (Medicine Hat, Vancouver 2004-09) and Corey Hirsch (Kamloops 1988-92) for first most all-time. The Blades have three games left for him to claim the record all to himself.
In 213 DUB games, the Yorkton, SK product has a 120-71-18 record with a 2.90 goals-against average, a .905 save percentage, and 11 shutouts so far in his career.
Philp signs with the Oilers
Former Kootenay ICE and @SeattleTbirds forward Noah Philp has signed with the @EdmontonOilers, the NHL Club announced Tuesday.
Philp joins the Oilers organization having spent the past three seasons utilizing the WHL Scholarship with @GBHKY.

Noah Philp (Kootenay, Seattle 2015-19) has signed a one-year contract with the Edmonton Oilers beginning with the 2022-23 season and will join the Bakersfield Condors on an amateur tryout. He has played eight games with the University of Alberta Golden Bears (U SPORTS) where he collected 11 points (8G-3A).
The 23-year-old Canmore, AB product played four seasons in the DUB where he collected 166 (54G-112A) points in 259 games.
