Patterson notched first goal for Hitmen

Defenseman Tre Patterson scored his first career DUB goal in a 5-2 Calgary Hitmen win over the Swift Current Broncos on Sunday. The Calgary product was acquired by his hometown Hitmen earlier this season from the Red Deer Rebels.

The 2003-born Patterson was playing in his 75th career game where he now has six points (1G-5A).

Kykkanen has first DUB donut

Jari Kykkanen picked up his first career DUB shutout with a 15-save goose egg in a 5-0 win over the Victoria Royals on Saturday night. The 17-year-old product of Lloydminster, AB was making his 10th appearance for the Rockets where he moved to 6-2-0  with a 3.12 goals-against average, .889 save percentage, and now one shutout.

The 115th overall pick in the 2019 Bantam Draft (by the Rockets) had started the season with the Drayton Valley Thunder (AJHL) where he played seven games going 2-0-3 with a 3.23 GAA and .896 SV% before joining the Rockets early in 2022.

Skinner recalled by Oilers

Stuart Skinner (Lethbridge, Swift Current 2014-18) was recalled from the Bakersfield Condors by the Edmonton Oilers. The 23-year-old has split his time between the two clubs. In 13 games with the Oilers, the Edmonton product has a 6-6-0 record with a 2.62 goals-against average and .913 save percentage. With the Condors, he has a 16-4-7 record in 26 games with a 2.28 GAA and .919 SV%.

The Edmonton product played 207 DUB games (182 with the Hurricanes, 25 with the Broncos) going 104-72-9-6 with a 3.22 GAA, .908 SV%, and 12 shutouts.

Harsch signs with Walleye

Reece Harsch (Seattle, Saskatoon, Winnipeg 2015-20) who was released from his professional tryout with the AHL’s Abbotsford Canucks on April 1, has signed with the Toledo Walleye of the ECHL. The 23-year-old defenseman played five games with Abbotsford where he was held off the scoresheet. he had started the season playing at the University of Manitoba where he had 12 points (2G-10A) in 14 games.

Not known as an offensive defenseman, the Grande Prairie, AB product collected 83 points (20G-63A) in 240 league games.
