WHL COVID-19 testing results

The WHL commenced its 10th week of testing as part of its return to play program. Among the 917 tests administered there was just one positive test result. The positive test result in the player cohort of the Tri-City Americans resulted in the shut down of team activities. Since the beginning of the WHL’s four divisional seasons, there have been a total of 13 positive test results.

Prince Albert Raiders 2004-born defenseman Tre Fouquette scored his first WHL goal last night as the Raiders fell 4-3 to the Regina Pats. The goal came at 15:50 of the second period and tied the game at three. Fouquette was selected in the fourth round of the 2019 WHL Draft and was playing in his second game.
Four WHLers move on from Lausitzer Fusche
The DEL2 league team made several moves on Sunday and that included releasing four former WHL players. Goaltender Mac Carruth (176GP, 117-46-6, 2.85GAA, .910sv% with Portland ’09-’13), forwards Jonathon Martin (316GP, 73G, 68A with Kootenay and Swift Current ’11-’16) and Andrew Clark (254GP, 93G, 123A with Brandon ’05-’09), as well as defenseman Nick Walters (307GP, 11G, 55A with Everett, Brandon, and Lethbridge ’10-’15), have all been released by the team. It is unknown at this time what each player will do for the upcoming season.
Horak signs extension with HC Sparta Praha

Forward Roman Horak (130GP, 47G, 78A with Chilliwack ’09-’11) has signed a contract extension with HC Sparta Praha for next season. This season was the first for Horak with Sparta Praha, scoring 17 goals and adding 30 assists in 51 games. Horak was the eighth overall selection at the 2009 CHL Import Draft.
