Cougars add Brook from Tigers

On Friday morning the Prince George Cougars announced that they have traded a sixth-round 2021 WHL Prospects Draft pick to the Medicine Hat Tigers in exchange for 2003-born defenseman Aidan Brook.

Brook, 18, from Roblin, MB has played 24 WHL games, all with the Tigers, and has recorded two assists. This season he has one assist through seven games.

Tigers Head Coach and General Manager Willie Desjardins says, “Aidan is an excellent team guy, he’s a hard worker, he’s great in the room.” With an abundance of defencemen, the amount of minutes available would be limited. “PG is excited to add Aidan. He will get lots of opportunity to play for the Cougars. We wish him all the best in Prince George.”

“Our scouting staff have watched him for quite some time and identified him as a good fit for our blue line,” said Cougars’ General Manager & Head Coach Mark Lamb. “He’s a right-hand shot defenceman that we feel can come in and make an impact now and has a lot of potential going forward.”

Brook is the youngest of three brothers, with both Josh and Jakob also having played in the Western Hockey League. The Seattle Thunderbirds originally drafted Brook in the fourth round of the 2018 WHL Draft and was traded on January 4, 2019, to the Tigers as part of a deal that sent Henrik Rybinski to Seattle.
