Rockets Continue To Struggle in The USA.

The Rockets are still looking for their first win in the USA this season.

Bear Hughes had a goal and an assist while Cordel Larson scored on the power play in the second period leading the Spokane Chiefs to a 2-1 win over the Kelowna Rockets.

Pavel Novak scored with 59 seconds to go in the game. However, Spokane goaltender Mason Beaupit stood his ground to get the win for his team. Beaupit made 23 saves in the win.

Talyn Boyko made 24 saves and took the loss for the Rockets. It’s the first time in three games that a goalie did not get pulled mid-game.

With the win, Spokane ended a five-game losing streak. They are 4-9-2 this season.

The Rockets were swept on their three-game road trip. They lost two games against the Portland Winterhawks. Including the 2020-21 season, the Rockets have lost seven games in the U.S. in a row. Their last win was Sunday, January 5, against the Tri-City Americans.

The Rockets are now 8-5-0-2 record is just one point ahead of the Vancouver Giants for third place in the B.C. Division. The team returns to Prospera Place this weekend with two games. Friday is a rematch against Spokane, while on Saturday night, they face the Prince George Cougars.

The Rockets also announced today that single-game tickets for regular-season games are now available. This includes the Teddy Bear Toss game Saturday, December 18, against the Kamloops Blazers.
