Williams signs with Falken

37-year-old forward Jeremy Williams (174GP, 99G, 108A with Swift Current ’00-’04) has signed with Heilbronner Falken of the DEL2. Williams spent the last five seasons with the Straubing Tigers of the DEL. Last season Williams scored 10 goals and added eight assists in 31 regular-season games. He also scored once in three playoff games. The Toronto Maple Leafs drafted Williams in the seventh round of the 2003 NHL Draft, he went on to play 32 NHL games.
Bartosak signs with HC Amur Khabarovsk

28-year-old goaltender Patrik Bartosak (145GP, 80-50-11, 2.59GAA, .927sv% with Red Deer ’11-’14) has signed with HC Amur Khabarovsk of the KHL. Bartosak spent the entire 2020-21 season with Pelicans of Liiga in Finland, with a 20-12-8 regular-season record, a 2.19 goals-against average, and a .913 save percentage. He was 2-3-0 in five playoff appearances, with a 2.24GAA and .914 sv%. Red Deer selected Bartosak 59th overall at the 2011 CHL Import Draft.
Soltes returns to HC Banska Bystrica
26-year-old Slovakian forward David Soltes (59GP, 17G, 16A with Prince George ’13-’15) has returned to HC Banska Bystrica for the 2021-22 season. Soltes spent 2020-21 with HK Dukla Michalovce, playing in 37 regular-season games, he scored six goals and added 16 assists. He also added one goal in seven playoff games. Soltes won the Czech Extraliga with HC Banska Bystrica in 2018-19. Prince George selected Soltes fourth overall at the 2013 CHL Import Draft.
Meszaros signs with HK Dukla Trencin
35-year-old Slovakian defenceman Andrej Meszaros (59GP, 11G, 30A with Vancouver ’04-’05) signed with HK Dukla Trencin on Tuesday. Meszaros played 27 regular-season games for HC Slovan Bratislava in 2020-21, scoring three goals and adding six assists. Through 10 playoff games, Meszaros scored two goals and added four assists. It was his fifth season with the team. Meszaros was selected 16th overall by the Vancouver Giants in the 2004 CHL Import Draft.

30-year-old defenceman Neil Manning (310GP, 45G, 138A with Vancouver ’06-’12) has signed for a third season with Angers in Ligue Magnus in France. In 2020-21, Manning played 22 games and registered 11 assists.

17-year-old defenseman Lynden Hanvold, the Vancouver Giants 10th round pick at the 2019 WHL Draft, has committed to the BCHL’s Salmon Arm Silverbacks. Hanvold played eight games in 2020-21 with the Okanagan HA U18 Prep team in the CSSHL U18 league and had five assists.

26-year-old Latvian forward Edgars Kulda (177GP, 49G, 58A with Edmonton ’12-’15) has parted ways with VHL club Metallurg Novokuznetsk. 2020-21 saw Kulda score eight goals and add eight assists in 41 regular-season games. He also added two goals and five assists in 14 playoff games. The Oil Kings selected Kulda 38th overall at the 2012 CHL Import Draft.

The Portland Winterhawks announced on Monday that they hired Clayton Johns as their head equipment manager. Johns most recently worked with the Barrie Colts of the OHL on a full-time basis. Because the OHL was unable to play in 2020-21, Johns served as an equipment assistant with the Toronto Maple Leafs.
