Daily Dose of the DUB: Alumni signings galore, Bublé receives order of B.C.

 

Busenius signs with Rødovre Mighty Bulls

Dylan Busenius (316GP, 25G, 88A with Medicine Hat, Prince Albert, and Saskatoon ’08-’14) has signed a contract to play for Rodovre Mighty Bulls of Denmark’s top professional league. It will be his second season overseas. Last year with Fehervar AV19 of the EBEL and MAC Ujbuda of the Slovakian Hockey League, Busenius scored one goal and seven assists and one goal and two assists respectively. This came on the heels of five seasons with the University of Calgary Dinos.

Schaber signs with Deggendorfer SC

Chase Schaber (277GP, 68G, 102A with Calgary and Kamloops ’07-’12) has signed with Deggendorfer SC of the Germany3 league. Schaber spent the last four seasons with the Fife Flyers of the EIHL. Last season in 43 games he scored 14 goals and added 14 assists. 2020-21 will be the first season for Schaber in Germany.

Davis resigns with Colorado Eagles

Kevin Davis (347GP, 26G, 149A with Everett) has resigned with the Colorado Eagles, AHL affiliate of the Colorado Avalanche. Davis split the last two seasons between the Eagles and their ECHL affiliate, Utah Grizzlies. In 2019-20, Davis had two assists in 13 games with the Eagles and had 16 assists in 41 games with the Grizzlies.

Stanley resigns with VEU Feldkirch

Dylan Stanley (339GP, 113G, 167A with Tri-City) has signed for a seventh season with VEU Feldkirch of the Alps Hockey League. The league is based in three European nations (Slovenia, Italy, and Austria). Last season in 36 games he had 17 goals and 52 assists as captain of the team. He was the sixth-best scorer in the entire league.

Knak signs “try-out for short term contract”

Simon Knak (49GP, 9G, 25A with Portland) has signed a contract with HC Davos for training purposes. Due to the earlier start of the National League in Switzerland, Knak has the ability to try-out for their team in the interim while he awaits the start of the WHL season. Knak is eligible for the 2020 NHL Draft when it occurs in October.

Buble to be honoured with the Order of B.C.

Vancouver Giants part-owner Michael Buble has been named as a recipient of the Order of BC. According to the website for the Order of BC; “The Order of British Columbia was established by statute on April 21, 1989, to recognize those persons who have served with the greatest distinction and excelled in any field of endeavour benefiting the people of the Province or elsewhere. The Order represents the highest form of recognition the Province can extend to its citizens.” More information on the Order of BC can be found on their website.
