Warriors sign Burnett as team’s new Assistant Coach

Gordon Burnett was last in the WHL as an assistant coach with the Kootenay ICE and moved into a head coaching role with the Winnipeg Blues junior ‘A’ team when the WHL franchise moved to Winnipeg and partnered with the Blues. Guenther signs contract extension with Angers

Guenther (83GP, 3G, 4A with Tri-City & Prince Albert) has signed a contract extension with Angers of the top professional league in France. Last season with the club the 25-year-old defenseman scored twice and added three assists in 38 games.

For the second day in a row, former WHL players have left HC Innsbruck of the EBEL. Spurgeon (212GP, 43G, 81A with Kelowna) played five seasons for Innsbruck, the last four as its team captain. A former eighth-round draft pick of the Oilers, Spurgeon spent parts of five seasons between the AHL and ECHL before this stint with Innsbruck.
*update* Immediately after posting it was announced that Spurgeon had signed with ESV Kaufbeuren of the German second league.
Mychan secures AHL deal with Iowa Wild
Mychan (104GP, 29G, 31A with Tri-City & Everett) has returned to North American following two seasons overseas. The Wild will be the fourth AHL team for Mychan since leaving junior hockey. Last season with Esbjerg Energy of the top league in Denmark, Mychan scored 11 goals and added eight assists over 46 contests.
