The Victoria Royals have announced that Cameron Hope won’t be back in his role as President and General Manager for the 2020/21 season. Hope had been GM of the Royals since the 2012-13 season. The team enjoyed a decent amount of success under the Hope regime posting eight straight seasons of 32+ wins and a Scotty Munro Memorial Trophy in 2016. They made the playoffs every year under Hope but were never able to get past the second round which was ultimately Hope’s undoing. The Royals did not announce who his replacement will be or a timeline for the announcement. One has to think there are more than a few candidates with present or past ties to the organization who will be vying for the job.
