Red Deer defenseman Alexander Alexeyev was not surprisingly listed as among those already in North America who will play for Russia in the series.
Three stars of the night:
- Dustin Wolf – The 17-year-old netminder got his first shutout this year and fifth in 33 appearances as he stopped all 23 shots from the Saskatoon Blades in a 3-0 Everett Silvertips win.
- Carson Miller – Two goals and an assist for three points for the Prince Albert Raiders center in a 4-2 win in Moose Jaw. The Raiders are now 14-1 and already have an 11-point lead in the East Division.
- Jaeger White – The overage forward for the Kootenay ICE had two of Kootenay’s three goals and then set up Peyton Krebs’ overtime winner in a 4-3 win over the Brandon Wheat Kings.
Honorable mentions:
–James Hamblin had a goal and two assists for three points and the Medicine Hat Tigers used three power play goals to take down the Red Deer Rebels 4-1… Isaac Johnson had two assists and the shootout winner as the Tri-City Americans took both games in Prince George; this one 4-3.
