Czech striker Radim Matuš has extended his contract with Gap in the French Ligue Magnus and is continuing his career abroad. The 32-year-old is one of the players best remembered for their long and consistent time in the ICE Hockey League, formerly known as EBEL.
Znojmo years
His most important stop in this league was Orli Znojmo, where he was under contract between 2017 and 2023. During these years, Matuš developed into a reliable performer and later took on the role of captain. In total, he played 180 games for Znojmo in the regular season, in which he scored 30 goals and 56 assists. In the playoffs he made 14 appearances with three assists. He had his best season in points in 2018/19 with 28 scorer points.
Stations after that
After his time in Znojmo, several positions in European ice hockey followed. He played, among others, for Eisbären Regensburg in the DEL2 and briefly for HC Bozen in the ICEHL. Further engagements took him back to the Czech Republic, Switzerland and France.
Today in Gap
Matuš has been under contract with Gap in the French league since 2025. In the 2025/26 season he scored 23 points in 32 games, making him one of the more productive players on the team. With the current contract extension, he remains an important part of the team.
