Herbert Hohenberger told the “Kronen Zeitung” speaks up for the first time – and appears calm.
Role changes, influence remains
As reported, the position of sports director was eliminated during the extraordinary general meeting. Hohenberger, who has previously held this role, will in future take on tasks in sponsorship and organizational areas.
For him, however, this is not a step backwards: “I don’t see all the changes in the club as negative,” the former defender explains to the “Kronen Zeitung”.
“I’ll stay on board in terms of sport”
Despite new tasks, Hohenberger emphasizes that he will remain involved in the sporting field:
“I’m still on board in terms of sport and will continue to do everything – and the sponsorship on top of that.” This makes it clear: In the future, responsibility will be spread across several shoulders – the coaching team, board and management will work more closely together.
New challenges are exciting
The additional tasks outside the ice seem to motivate Hohenberger in particular:
“That suits me perfectly,” he says, referring to his new role. Above all, the planned expansion in the VIP and sponsor areas is an exciting task. He now describes his role as a kind of “team manager” – a mixture of sporting involvement and economic responsibility.
