At the World Championships in Switzerland, Gregor Biber once again provided a test of talent. The development of the Austro defender did not go unnoticed by Utah Mammoth.
The Krems native moved to Sweden in 2023 and gained a lot of experience at Rögle BK. The 19-year-old has already played 88 team games for the Swedish first division club. In the last two years his development took a steep curve, and Biber also showed strong performances at the World Cup in Zurich.
First NHL contract
Much to the Utah Mammoth’s delight, Beaver has developed into a reliable defender. So the investment of a 4th round pick for the team from Salt Lake City has paid off so far. The Americans have now given the left-handed shooter an “entry level” contract with a term of three years.

Where Biber will play next season is still uncertain and will only be decided during the upcoming camps. “Gregor is a talented defenseman who performed very well in the Swedish Hockey League last season,” said Utah Mammoth General Manager Bill Armstrong. “We look forward to following his continued development within our system.”
