David Rodman is definitely no stranger in Villach, as the Slovenian was assistant coach alongside Rob Daum in the 2023/24 season, but he was replaced by Rodman’s brother Marcel during the season.
More than 300 EBEL games
Rodman gained a lot of experience as an active player in what was then the Erste Bank Ice Hockey League. He was on the ice for the Black Wings Linz, Jesenice, the Vienna Capitals and the Graz99ers. The former national team player scored 273 points in 308 games this season.
Trainer experience
Rodman made his coaching debut at HK Celje in the 2020/21 season. A few years later, he was hired by the Eagles, but the collaboration ended after one season. In 2024/25 he worked as an assistant coach at Olimpija Ljubljana.
As the “Crown newspaper” reports, Rodman could be returning to the Drau. The Villachers would like to appoint the 42-year-old as head coach for the U18.
