At the age of 38, Korbinian Holzer continues to be the focus of the Graz99ers as a leading player, but his sporting future has not yet been clarified. The former NHL defender was recently linked with a move to the DEL2 club Düsseldorf, where his former coach, Harry Lange, works.
Holzer confirmed the contact and described Düsseldorf as an interesting option due to his past with the club, but made it clear that there has been no decision yet. At the same time, discussions are also underway with the Graz99ers about a possible continuation of his career in Graz. “There is no decision at all yet, I am relatively open and relaxed,” the 99ers captain told the “Kronen Zeitung”.
Despite his age, the German is not yet thinking about ending his career and still feels in good physical shape. His many years of experience from over two decades in the professional sector, including stints in the NHL and DEL, as well as professional support in the areas of fitness and nutrition help him to continue to play at a high level.
The captain’s current focus is entirely on his sporting duties with the 99ers. With a view to the decisive phase of the season, Holzer and his team want to achieve the best possible starting position and attack in the play-offs.
