The past season in the ICEHL once again showed how much individual quality there is in the league – even beyond the top stars that have already been committed. Some players were able to play their way into the limelight in the regular season as well as in the playoffs and significantly increase their market value. Particularly interesting: Several of these players are currently without an officially confirmed contract for the coming season and are therefore potentially available. Below we take a closer look at selected names that have impressed with strong performances. Click here for part 1 and part 2
Travis Barron (C/LW)
The Canadian striker played for the Black Wings Linz in the ICEHL in the 2025/26 season and played 45 games in which he collected 42 points (18 goals, 24 assists) with a plus/minus record of +5. In the playoffs he was used in two games, but remained without a scorer point and finished with a -3. Barron was drafted in 2016 in the 7th round at position 191 by the Colorado Avalanche and brings experience from the OHL, AHL and ECHL, where he was used as a physical offensive player for many years and has already won an ECHL Kelly Cup, among other things. A possible transfer probably fell through shortly after the end of the Linz season, and the situation surrounding Barron has become quiet since then. The fact is: The Canadian does not yet have a valid working document for the coming season.
Brett Pollock (C/W)
The Canadian striker played for HC Bozen in the 2025/26 season and had 49 points (17 goals, 32 assists) in 48 games with a plus/minus balance of +14. He also played 6 games in the Champions Hockey League and recorded 1 assist there. The 30-year-old was drafted by the Dallas Stars in the 2nd round in 45th position in 2014 and has a long international career with stations in the WHL, AHL, ECHL, DEL, KHL and most recently in the Slovakian Extraliga, where he became champion several times and won titles in 2023 and 2025. In South Tyrol they were not happy with Pollock due to the weak playoffs and he will probably have to leave the club.
Troy Bourke (C)
The Canadian striker played for EC Salzburg in the ICEHL in the 2025/26 season and played 39 games in which he scored 34 points (15 goals, 19 assists). In the playoffs he made 4 appearances and recorded 2 points (1 goal, 1 assist). Bourke has been under contract with Salzburg since 2022 after joining from Finnish club Kärpät. During this time, he won three ICEHL championships with the team (2023, 2024, 2025) and was regularly one of the pillars of the Salzburg offensive. Bourke does not yet have an official contract for the coming season.
