Who strikes? ICEHL top players still without a contract – Part 2

The past season in the ICEHL once again showed how much individual quality there is in the league – even beyond the top stars that have already been committed. Some players were able to play their way into the limelight in the regular season as well as in the playoffs and significantly increase their market value. Particularly interesting: Several of these players are currently without an officially confirmed contract for the coming season and are therefore potentially available. Below we take a closer look at selected names that have impressed with strong performances. Click here for part 1!

Travis St. Denis (C/RW)

The Canadian veteran moved from the DEL (most recently Straubing Tigers) to EC Salzburg before the 2025/26 season and immediately brought in his offensive qualities. In the regular season, the lively center had a strong 43 points (19 goals, 24 assists) in 47 games and was therefore an important part of the Salzburg offensive. Despite his rather small stature, St. Denis impresses with his speed and finishing ability. In the playoffs he contributed 2 goals in four games. With his experience from the AHL and DEL, he is considered a reliable scorer whose future is currently still open after just one year in Salzburg.

Nikita Scherbak

(LW/RW)

The Russian winger moved from France (Angers) to Villacher SV for the 2024/25 season and was able to establish himself in the
ICE Hockey League

quickly establish himself as a key offensive player. In the 2025/26 season, he impressed with strong 43 points (10 goals, 33 assists) in 43 games, making him one of the most creative playmakers in the league. His game intelligence and overview are particularly noticeable in the final third, where he regularly creates scoring chances with precise passes. In the playoffs, Scherbak wasn’t able to quite match his production from the regular season, but he still contributed 2 points (0 goals, 2 assists) in 6 games and remained present, above all, as a game-shaping factor. The former first round pick of the
Montreal Canadiens

In addition to his NHL and AHL experience, he also has international stations from the KHL, Czech Republic and Slovakia and therefore has a broad profile.

Cole Schneider

(WC)

The American attacker moved from the Norwegian top club Storhamar to HC Bozen before the 2025/26 season and confirmed his role as an experienced offensive engine in the
ICE Hockey League
. In his first ICEHL season, Schneider immediately delivered with 51 points (18 goals, 33 assists) in 46 games, making him one of the most consistent scorers on his team. The 35-year-old has an exceptionally long career in North America and Europe, including NHL appearances for the
Buffalo Sabres
as well as stints in the AHL, DEL and most recently in Norway, where he dominated in 2024/25 with 64 points and a plus/minus of +54 and became champions. With his experience, leadership quality and consistent offensive production, Schneider is one of the most interesting veterans available on the market, even at an advanced age in his career. It is currently unclear whether he will continue in Bolzano – the chances are probably not bad.
