VSV icon is probably finally ending his career!

A defining figure in the Villach ice hockey scene is apparently hanging up his skates for good: Stefan Bacher is said to have ended his active career. This is reported by the “Kronen Zeitung”.

The now 36-year-old ended his career in the Carinthian league at EC Steindorf over the past four years. The experienced defender celebrated another success there this season and was crowned champions with his team.

However, Bacher left his biggest mark at VSV. The defender played a total of 805 games for the Eagles in the ICE Hockey League, making him one of the players with the most appearances in the club’s history. For many years he was a fixture in the Villach defense.

Bacher also enjoyed great trust within the team: he served as assistant captain for several seasons and was considered an important leader and a reliable support in the defense.
