The EC iDM Heat Pumps VSV got the points they needed to secure the pre-playoffs with a 3-1 home win against Pioneers Vorarlberg. In a tight game, Nick Hutchison gave the eighth-placed team the lead in the 9th minute. The Villach team then had the game well under control, but in the 37th minute the Pioneers equalized in the power play through Oskar Maier. However, the Eagles were unimpressed and made it 2-1 less than 40 seconds later through Joël Teasdale. It was the striker’s second goal in just his fourth game. As a result, VSV was again unable to make the decision early – this ultimately only came with an empty net goal 71 seconds before the end of the game. As with the 1-0, Nick Hutchison was the goalscorer.
