Venture capitalist pays $19M for Charlie Puth’s family home in Montecito

The Montecito home where singer-songwriter Charlie Puth and Brooke Sansone wed traded hands for $18.5 million, The Real Deal has learned.

The off-market sale of Puth’s family home at 1421 Wyant Road penciled out to $3,125 per square foot for the six-bedroom, seven-bathroom estate. The closing occurred in July but was not recorded in the Multiple Listing Service until Friday, according to property records and listing sites.

The buyer was a limited liability company tied to John Jarve and Jacqueline Jarve, according to property and state records. John is partner emeritus at venture capital firm Menlo Ventures and founder of Sierra Point Capital.

Carolwood Estates’ Cameron Chesley and Shaun Alan Lee held the listing. Compass’ Gregoire & Beuoy Real Estate Group brought the buyer.

Carolwood declined to comment on the transaction.  Gregoire & Beuoy Real Estate Group could not be reached for comment.

Puth and Sansone married at the home in 2024 with the then-bride telling Vogue: “We chose the Puth family residence because we just knew Montecito would offer the perfect backdrop.”

The Montecito home is the latest California closing to involve Puth’s name.

In May, the “We Don’t Talk Anymore” singer sold his Studio City home at 3631 Sunswept Drive for $2.1 million, or $875 per square foot. Puth originally sought $2.9 million, or $1,208 per square foot. However, the closing price still comes in above the $1.5 million Puth paid for the pad in 2021.

In 2024, the chart topper sold his Trousdale Estates Mid-Century modern at 1875 Carla Ridge to “Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles” star and Compass agent Josh Flagg for $9 million, or $2,027 per square foot. Flagg worked out a deal for himself on the Beverly Hills home, for which Puth previously sought nearly $17 million. Puth bought the Rex Lotery-designed home in 2017 for just under $9 million, or $2,026 per square foot.
