Transfer: Vienna Capitals defender goes to the island!

The farewell was already fixed and now the new club is also known: Caps defender Nate Kallen is moving to the Guildford Flames in the British EIHL next season.

The 28-year-old American was only under contract with the Vienna Capitals for a few months. After moving from the Tahoe Knight Monsters to the ICEHL in February 2026, the right-handed shooter played a total of eight games for the Vienna team, including the playoffs.

Short guest appearance in Vienna

In terms of sport, however, the commitment in Austria was rather unremarkable. Kallen remained without a scorer point in his appearances and had a plus/minus balance of -5. Although the defender had international experience and solid skating, he was rarely able to have the desired influence on the Capitals’ defense.

Return to a well-known league

The EIHL is not new territory for Kallen. The American played for the Glasgow Clan in the 2023/24 season and was impressive offensively with 23 points from 39 games.

The Flames are securing an offensively oriented defender with experience from the NCAA, ECHL, AHL and several European leagues.
