has the Canadian defender’s commitment
Justin MacPherson
officially announced. The 25-year-old offensive defender comes from the German DEL2 club
EC Bad Nauheim and should take on a central role in the defense next season.
Strong numbers in the DEL2
MacPherson played a strong debut season in Europe in the 2025/26 season. In 48 DEL2 games, the Canadian scored ten goals and prepared 28 more goals. This made him one of the most offensive defenders in the league and was even nominated for the award as the best DEL2 defender.
His high ice age was particularly impressive. The right-handed shooter was used in all game situations – both in the power play and in the shorthanded game – and quickly developed into one of the most important players on his team.

According to Kiss, MacPherson fits perfectly into this concept. Those responsible were particularly impressed by his overview, his strong first passes and his calmness with the disc.

The defender emphasized that he had heard a lot of good things about the ICE Hockey League, the fans and the atmosphere at the MET Aréna. For him, the move to Fehérvár is an important step in his career.
Experience from Canada and the ECHL
Before moving to Europe, MacPherson played in Canada for, among others
Niagara IceDogs and the
Kitchener Rangers in the OHL.
He then gained professional experience in the ECHL with the
Florida Everblades
and the
Kansas City Mavericksbefore he took the step to Germany.
