A few years ago, Tim McGauley showed what he was made of at HC Innsbruck, and now the Canadian striker is starting a new chapter in his career.
McGauley appeared on European ice for the first time in 2020 with the Norwegian club Stjernen Hockey. There he scored 34 points in just 24 appearances. HC Innsbruck became aware of him and directed the attacker to the Inn.
Sharks top scorer
McGauley also showed his offensive qualities in the Tyrolean capital and was Innsbruck’s top scorer with 50 points in 47 games. His 19 goals were also a team record. But towards the end of the season, McGauley left for ERC Ingolstadt, where he only managed two points in 15 games.
Regular team changes
After a year with the Kassel Huskies, he returned to the ICEHL in 2023/24 and joined Fehervar AV19. With the Magyars he fell short of his numbers from Innsbruck: McGauley had nine goals and 33 points to his name at the end of the season. In Szekesfehervar the collaboration also ended after a year.
A pattern that should continue, as his last two engagements, in Oslo with Valerenga and with the Eispiren Crimmitschau, also ended after just one season. The now 30-year-old center forward is now joining the EIHL club Manchester Storm. Brady Gilmour, a former Pioneers Vorarlberg striker, is under contract there. For McGauley it is the eighth club since he jumped across the pond.
