ICEHL transfer: Is RBS striker Hochkofler moving within the league?

The future of
Peter Hochkofler

at the
EC Red Bull Salzburg

is currently open and that is exactly what is causing movement within the ICEHL. The 31-year-old has not yet extended his contract, which raises the question: Will the experienced winger stay in Salzburg or will there be a move within the league?

A look at the numbers shows a player who never stands out for his extreme scoring values, but who consistently has his value. In his ICEHL career, Hochkofler has over 120 points in around 460 games – a classic two-way forward with defensive stability and physical presence. In recent years it has mostly been in the range of 10 to 20 points per season, most recently around 22 points (2024/25) and 13 points (2023/24).

But last season was not an ordinary one for Hochkofler: a stroke turned his life and career upside down. The stroke of fate inevitably raises questions – not just in terms of sport, but above all in terms of health. How is his recovery going? When can he get back to his usual performance level?

Despite these uncertainties, Hochkofler is considered a valuable team player with a master’s gene – he won several titles with Salzburg. It is precisely this experience that could make him interesting for other ICEHL clubs. Like for the VSV, for example. According to “Kronen Zeitung”, the striker is considered the Adler’s absolute dream player.
