The Graz99ers have made a clear statement and won the quarter-final series ICEHL against the Villacher SV won impressively 4-0. With a confident 6:2 win in the decisive game, the Styrians completed the sweep.
From the start, the Graz team presented themselves as the dominant team in the series. They left no doubts in the last game either: a strong first third laid the foundation for the clear victory. Although the “Adlers” from Villach increased the pace again in the final period, there was no longer anything worth counting on – two goals were also disallowed.
In the end, the success of the Graz99ers was safe. The joy was correspondingly great after the final siren. president Herbert Jerich told the “Kronen Zeitung” enthusiastically: “I am incredibly proud of this team.” Also players Paul Huber drew a positive conclusion: “We played a strong first third. In the end it was a great series!”
With a clear 4-0 win in the series, the Graz99ers underline their strong form and put an exclamation mark in the fight for the title. For Villacher SV, however, the season ends.
