HK Olimpija Ljubljana continues to rely on continuity in defense: Canadian defender Clayton Kirichenko has extended his contract with the club and will now remain with the team in the 2026/27 season.
Important role in his first season
Kirichenko joined the team before last season and was immediately able to establish himself as an important part of the team. In his first season in the Olimpija jersey, the strong offensive defender played 48 games and recorded 16 scorer points.
Already known in the league
The versatile defender is no stranger to the league. In the 2023/24 season, the Canadian was one of the league’s top defenders wearing the Pioneers Vorarlberg jersey. In terms of points, the 30-year-old was the top defender in the league. The Defender then went to Germany. Now Kirichenko has extended his working paper for another season.
