The former KAC defender Tyler Myers changed teams shortly before the NHL trade deadline. The 36-year-old Canadian was picked up by the Vancouver Canucks to the Dallas Stars traded.
In return, Vancouver will receive a second-round pick NHL Draft 2027 and a fourth-round pick in 2029. The Canucks will also cover 50 percent of the defender’s salary.
For Myers it is his 17th season in the National Hockey League. In the current season, the 2.03 meter tall right-shot defender scored eight points (1 goal, 7 assists) in 57 games and averaged over 20 minutes of ice time per game.
Austrian hockey fans still remember Myers’ short trip to Carinthia. During the 2012/13 lockout season, the defender played 17 games for the EC KAC in the domestic league and recorded a strong 10 points.
