Fatal shots during an ice hockey game – new details known

After we reported the day before yesterday about the fatal shooting at a high school hockey game in the US state Rhode Island have reported, further information is now available from the investigators.

According to police, a 56-year-old man was identified as the suspected perpetrator. He is said to have opened fire during the game at an ice rink in Pawtucket, fatally wounding his ex-wife at the scene. Their son later died of his injuries in the hospital.

Several people present initially overpowered the shooter. According to authorities, however, he pulled out a second weapon and then fatally injured himself. Three other people – including the parents of the woman killed – remain in critical condition.
