Ex-Vienna successful coach wins next title and is about to change!

Successful coach Serge Aubin
is about to take the next career step. The newly crowned master trainer of the
Polar Bears Berlin

could in the future
SC Bern
take over. The Canadian is one of the most successful coaches in Europe – and is also well known in Austria thanks to a title with the Vienna Capitals.

Success in Austria

In the 2016/17 season Aubin won with the
Vienna Capitals
the championship title in the
Erste Bank Ice Hockey League
. The Viennese dominated the regular season and also prevailed in the playoffs. It was the Capitals’ last title to date and therefore a central point in the club’s recent history.

Dominance in Germany

Aubin celebrated his greatest successes in the
German Ice Hockey League
with the Eisbären Berlin. Since 2021, he has led the team to a total of five championship titles, most recently yesterday with a 4-1 series win over Adler Mannheim. In doing so, he established Berlin as the dominant team in the league and confirmed his reputation as a top coach in European ice hockey.

Next stop Bern?

Despite an ongoing contract in Berlin, there are increasing indications of a move to SC Bern, as “Eisblog” reports. Aubin knows Switzerland from his time at the ZSC Lions and could now return to one of the country’s most traditional clubs.
